Fremont, CA — Soraa, the world leader in GaN on GaN™ LED technology, has appointed Jeffery (Jeff) Parker as its new chief executive officer.

Before joining Soraa, Parker was a senior executive with Rambus, one of the world’s premier technology licensing companies, serving as president of the lighting and display technology division that was focused on producing LED lamps and fixtures. Prior to that, he was the founder and CEO of Global Lighting Technologies, an LED backlighting company. Parker grew that business to more than $100 million in revenue before selling the R&D division to Rambus in 2009 for $26 million. He also helped start Lumitex, a medical lighting company. Parker has more than 25 years of experience in the information display, LED, medical and lighting markets.
