Seattle — IA Interior Architects is growing its retail practice group with the addition of a new team that will be based in Seattle. This group will be led by three retail experts: Mike Riggs, managing director/retail; Ron Singler, design director/retail; and Alex Shapleigh, design director/retail. The new team will work in conjunction with the company’s New York Retail practice group.

Seattle — Amazon.com Inc. has opened the first location of Amazon Go, an 1,800-square-foot mini grocery store in Seattle that allows customers to shop without waiting in checkout lines. The store was open exclusively to Amazon employees for the past year.
San Diego — In keeping with its fast-paced 2016 growth plan, which includes 26 new Petco stores and one new Unleashed by Petco year-to-date, Petco will open five new Petco stores across the country in July. In addition, the company is also remodeling 12 stores in Seattle, one in San Diego, expanding one store in Heath, Ohio, and relocating one store in Middleburg Heights, Ohio.
Seattle — Online retail giant Amazon opened its first brick-and-mortar bookstore, called Amazon Books, on November 3, 2015 at University Village in north Seattle. The store opens 20 years after Amazon began selling books — severely discounted compared to traditional retailers — over the Internet.
