Toastique to Debut First Location in California

by Katie Lee

Newport, Calif. — Toastique, a vibrant, artisan toast and juice café conceptualized on the East Coast, is set to launch its first storefront in California on Sept. 16, 2023. The new location will be opening at 226 Marine Ave., a former Starbucks location, at the corner of a seaside street on Balboa Island in Newport Beach, Calif. The approximately 1,500-square-foot establishment will provide both indoor and outdoor café style seating, including bar seats and tables.

Toastique was first launched in 2017 in Washington, D.C., and has gained recognition over the years in the growing wellness industry for its mission to create stunning food on the premise of honoring the natural beauty and simplicity in locally-sourced ingredients. Toastique has developed a broad menu of unique and health-conscious toasts, smoothies, cold-pressed juices, and more that promote and fit into a balanced and energetic lifestyle.

The Newport Beach location is fueled by husband-and-wife team Lyndon Baptiste and Rhea Cayenne, alongside relatives and long-time Newport Beach residents Anthony and Lesley Capolino. The two couples make up Orange Seed LLC, a company investing in high caliber food and beverage brands.

“Bringing this concept to California has been a journey filled with love and adventure, from moving away from our home in London to be nearby our family in Newport Beach, to joining forces with the incredible Toastique team, and pouring all of our energy into this concept,” says Cayenne. “We can’t wait to toast, taste and celebrate with the community that has embraced us!”

Toastique was founded in 2017 by former D1 collegiate cheerleader Brianna Keefe. After the flagship location in Washington, D.C., generated over $1 million in sales during its first year of operation, Keefe franchised the concept and has expanded with locations in D.C., Colorado, Florida, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Utah and Virginia, with more franchise units signed and in development across the country.
