— Interview with CJ Jernigan —
R&R: Where are you based? How long have you been in business?

CJ Jernigan: Vixxo Facility Solutions is headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, and has been in the FM industry since 1980 through the merger of several companies. Vixxo brings decades of expertise in delivering proactive, scalable solutions for multi-site facilities across North America. We help our clients spend less and stress less, one work order at a time.
R&R: What is your name and title?
Jernigan: I’m CJ Jernigan, president of Vixxo, with over 20 years in the facilities management industry. Throughout my career, I’ve collaborated closely with suppliers, clients and industry leaders to deliver meaningful outcomes.
My FM journey began at Ecova. I then served as senior vice president of sales at CBRE, where I played a key role in the merger with FacilitySource. That experience led to my previous role as president & CEO of Cushman & Wakefield Facilities Solutions. In August 2024, the company was acquired by Vixxo.
Today, I lead a team of 1,000 professionals dedicated to delivering 24/7/365 facility solutions with a focus on AI-enabled technology that helps retailers and restaurants drive excessive cost out of their businesses. I am also a proud member of the ConnexFM board of directors where I serve as treasurer.
R&R: What trades/services do you offer retailers and restaurants?
Jernigan: Vixxo has been there, seen that — and fixed it — thousands of times. We offer a comprehensive suite of FM services tailored to the needs of retailers and restaurants: HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, lighting, signage, plumbing, general handyman services, locks, hardware and more. Our trade experts ensure that essential systems run smoothly and cost-effectively, allowing our clients to focus on their core operations.
R&R: In what regions of the country do you operate?
Jernigan: Vixxo Facility Solutions operates across the U.S. and Canada. Our scalable model allows us to serve clients with large, multi-site footprints consistently and efficiently across all regions. We currently maintain 2+ million pieces of equipment.
R&R: What makes your company’s “signature service” stand out?
Jernigan: Our data-driven approach to facilities management, powered by our proprietary AI platform that provides intelligent decision making, predictive suggestions and real-time visibility. Also our our deep trade expertise and commitment to personalized service.
R&R: What kind of feedback do you receive from clients?
Jernigan: Clients consistently praise Vixxo for our responsiveness, transparency and ability to proactively manage complex facilities portfolios. Our unique partnerships, data insights and ability to drive efficiencies are our firm’s key differentiators. We’re proud of the trust we’ve earned and strive to exceed expectations.
R&R: Why should companies choose Vixxo to be their next partner?
Jernigan: Because we deliver more than just service. We deliver strategic value. Our approach emphasizes long term partnerships, customized programs and consistent performance across all locations. With a strong emphasis on uptime, cost control and customer satisfaction, we help our partners run better businesses.
R&R: How many retail/restaurant clients do you have, and is that sector growing for you?
Jernigan: Vixxo Facility Solutions manages thousands of sites across North America, with a significant and growing presence in the retail and restaurant sectors.
R&R: Tell me about 2-3 recent projects you are most proud of.
Kitchen Equipment for a Nationwide QSR
Challenge: Our national QSR client needed to relocate kitchen equipment and install a new chicken grill to support a new menu across multiple locations.
Solution: Vixxo performed a site survey, relocated fryers, extended hood vents and installed the new grills.
Result: The client experienced improved kitchen efficiency and cooking capacity with minimal disruption to daily operations, which allowed for a successful rollout of the new menu.
Retail Brand Standardization Project
Consistent in-store branding is essential for retail stores because it reinforces the brand’s identity, builds customer trust and creates a cohesive shopping experience across all locations. When store layouts, signage, colors, fixtures and messaging are uniform, customers can immediately recognize the brand and feel confident that they will receive quality experiences at all locations.
Vixxo recently assisted a major national retailer with brand standardization project to support its rebranding efforts. The retailer needed to maintain store operations while the project was completed, so the schedule was carefully condensed to 6 days across 22 store locations. While stores remained open, all neon signs were removed from the interior perimeter of the store, and the walls were patched and painted. New department signage was installed, and banner graphics replaced all hanging signage. The retailer was able to maintain customer satisfaction by having the project completed seamlessly during regular store hours.
R&R: What are some of the latest trends you see in the industry now?
Jernigan: The increasing adoption of smart technologies, sustainability-driven initiatives and a shift toward predictive rather than reactive maintenance. Clients are looking for partners who can bring insights from data to drive operational efficiency and environmental impact reduction. After conducting market research and reviewing over a decade of work order history, we learned that most firms overspend by 15% on facilities programs. That’s why we created Vixxo VerifyTM, a proprietary technology that completes 32 real-time audits on every single work order to help you eliminate overages, guesswork and trade-offs.
In addition to Vixxo VerifyTM, we have rolled out the industry’s first technology-enabled AI assistant for our technicians. Our AI platform empowers technicians in the field by delivering real-time guidance, troubleshooting and documentation based on work order history and asset data. This helps technicians rapidly diagnose equipment issues and improve first‑time fix rates while reducing time onsite. AI reduces equipment downtime for assets that directly drive revenue, such as F&B equipment, HVAC systems and more. This revolutionary pivot in technology helps support a smoother customer experience in retail and restaurant sectors where uptime directly affects revenue.
R&R: Predictions for 2025-26?
Jernigan: The consolidation of vendors and ongoing mergers and acquisitions activity are reshaping the FM industry by creating larger, more integrated service providers that offer end-to-end solutions across geographies and trades. This trend enables economies of scale, streamlined operations and consistent service delivery.
