Dick’s Sporting Goods Pledges More Than $5.5 Million Toward Hurricane Relief

Pittsburgh — DICK’S Sporting Goods along with The DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation have made a $5.5 million commitment to support communities impacted by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. The short term emergency requests and long term recovery support ranges from monetary donations, to equipment and apparel and other much needed supplies distributed in partnership with The American Red Cross and local authorities.

“Our heart goes out to all impacted by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma,” says Lauren Hobart, president, DICK’S Sporting Goods and The DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation. “We are committed to helping our valued customers and associates begin to rebuild.”

DICK’S is donating $3.5 million worth of clothing and footwear to those in need through its partnership with The American Red Cross. DICK’S is also helping to minimize the risk of lost wages and assisting associates with getting back on their feet. Additionally, DICK’S and The DICK’S Foundation will donate $2 million to rebuild and refurbish youth sports programs and facilities across the Gulf Coast, Florida and other states impacted by the hurricanes.
