Beijing — Ten years after first entering the market, Toys”R”Us, Inc. has opened its 100th store in China. The grand opening took place on January 16, 2016 at the APM Shopping Mall in Wang Fu Jing, one of the leading retail districts in Beijing, where Toys”R”Us® opened one of its 27 new stores across the country within the past year.

Nanjing, China — Innovative product developer and specialty retailer Brookstone began the new year by opening its first overseas store in one of the largest retail shopping centers in Nanjing, China. Additionally, Brookstone opened three store-in-stores within Funtalk Telecommunication’s locations in Beijing and Shanghai.
Brisbane, Calif. — bebe stores, inc. has signed a 5-year exclusive license with Longgoal LLC, a Shanghai-based agency of international high-end brands, to open between 60 and 150 bebe points of distribution in Greater China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. The first boutique is expected to open in summer 2016.

Shanghai — Disney Store has opened its flagship store in the popular Lujiazui area of Pudong, Shanghai, China. The landmark store is the largest retail space of any Disney Store in the world featuring 53,819 square feet of shopping space plus an outdoor plaza.
Mebane, N.C. — Kingsdown, Inc., the nation’s largest independent and employee-owned mattress manufacturer, has signed a new licensing agreement with Chinese bedding producer and retailer, Roth Bedding Technology International Limited, to open 500 stores over the next 5 years.
