by Katie Lee

Baltimore, Md. — Vulcan, a leading provider of commercial cooking equipment, has named Alex Piñero as project manager – custom and heavy-duty products for the company. The new hire is part of Vulcan’s efforts to enhance the customer experience with a new design team.

The new Vulcan design team is led by industry veteran Dan Montgomery, Vulcan’s director of consultant and design services. As the newest member of the design team, Piñero will be working with the company’s CAD/Revit Designer and will be the point of contact for the management of all custom and suites products. He will also play a key role in the growth and development of heavy-duty and other spec line Vulcan products.

“We are looking forward to having Alex on the new Vulcan design team,” says Chris Stern, Vulcan’s vice president and general manager. “His industry experience will be parlayed into strengthening Vulcan’s offering of custom ranges and suites. The result is a win for both us and our customer.”

Piñero comes to Vulcan with a strong culinary background starting at the entry level in restaurants and working his way up to becoming an executive chef at operations in South Florida. He then transitioned into new responsibilities within the industry. Most recently, he worked at a foodservice equipment dealer as a project manager, directing all aspects of design, fabrication, planning and installation.

For more than 150 years, Vulcan has been recognized by chefs and operators throughout the world for top-quality, energy-efficient commercial cooking equipment. Vulcan is part of ITW Food Equipment Group. For more information, visit www.vulcanequipment.com.
