Orlando, Fla. — Hard Rock International has appointed Stephen K. Judge as president of cafe operations. In this new role, Judge will use his more than 30 years of experience in the restaurant industry to oversee daily operations for 176 corporate and franchise locations around the world. Judge will report directly to CEO Jim Allen.
Minneapolis — Buffalo Wild Wings, Inc. will pilot two new small-format locations in the Minneapolis metro market this summer. Inspired by consumers’ growing interest in takeout and at-home dining, B-Dubs Express will offer a streamlined, counter-service and sports filled environment.
Salt Lake City — Next spring, Dave & Buster’s will open its first Utah location at The Gateway in downtown Salt Lake City. In addition to its $100 million redevelopment plan, The Gateway and its parent company, Vestar, had been looking for a big name, family-friendly venue to anchor its rebranding effort.
Nashville, Tenn. — Captain D’s, the leading fast-casual seafood restaurant, has partnered with leading development firm American Development Partners (ADP) to propel the company’s ongoing aggressive franchise development plans. Captain D’s has enlisted ADP to aid franchisees in the development of new locations by facilitating the acquisition of land and overseeing construction.
New York City — Soupman, Inc. has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. Soupman also has secured a new $2 million debtor-in-possession credit facility (DIP) to allow business operations to continue as normal. Michael Wyse of Wyse Advisors, LLC has been hired as chief restructuring officer and interim CFO of Soupman.
Dallas — Nestlé® Toll House® Café by Chip® has appointed Kendra Shier as vice president of operations and marketing. Shier, a 27-year restaurant industry veteran, will be responsible for the strategic marketing direction, operations and expansion of the premium dessert destination.
Houston — Transwestern has been retained by Zoës Kitchen, a Plano, Texas-based fast-casual Mediterranean restaurant group, as its exclusive real estate advisor in the Houston market. Currently, Zoës Kitchen has 15 Houston locations and has plans to more than double its footprint in the Houston market during the next few years.
Canton, Mass. — Dunkin’ Brands Group, Inc., the parent company of Dunkin’ Donuts (DD) and Baskin-Robbins (BR), has promoted Kate Jaspon, interim CFO, to the position of chief financial officer (CFO), effective June 5, 2017. She will report directly to Dunkin’ Brands’ CEO, Nigel Travis.
