Seattle — Starbucks Corporation has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the remaining 50% share of its East China (East China JV) business from joint venture partners, Uni-President Enterprises Corporation (UPEC) and President Chain Store Corporation (PCSC) for approximately $1.3 billion in cash consideration in the largest single acquisition in the company’s history.

Canton, Mass. — Dunkin’ Donuts has teamed up with a nationally recognized grocer, Price Chopper, to open three restaurants in Kansas. The first location will open July 26, 2017 in the Paola Price Chopper. Paola, Kan., is roughly 45 miles south of Kansas City.
Houston — Transwestern represented MOD Pizza in a total of 23 new leases in the Houston area, bringing the retailer to 17 stores currently in operation and six more slated to open by year-end. To date, MOD operates more than 230 stores across the U.S. and the United Kingdom.
Nashville, Tenn. — Captain D’s, the leading fast-casual seafood restaurant, has signed franchise development agreements that will expand its presence in four states. This growth will bring five new restaurants to San Antonio; one to Jackson, Tenn.; and four to the Mobile, Ala./Pensacola, Fla., market over the next several years.
