Orlando, Fla. — Filta Environmental Kitchen Solutions (Filta), the world’s restaurant kitchen and hospitality leader in active fryer management and environmental sustainability, has promoted two executives. Tom Dunn, formerly COO and a 20-year veteran of the franchise industry, assumes responsibility as CEO for The Filta Group, Inc., the company’s Orlando, Fla.-based North American franchise business unit, and Rob Totten has been promoted to COO. Both executive moves are effective immediately.
“Tom has run the comprehensive day-to-day operations at Filta as COO for several years, so his promotion to CEO is part of our natural and exciting evolution,” says Jason Sayers, founder and president of Filta Group Holdings, PLC. “We can’t wait to see the strategic growth that Tom will champion as our new CEO while also promoting additional innovation and support across our entire system.”
Totten has been responsible for sales development efforts throughout Filta’s North American franchise network and, under his lead, the team has grown. Totten’s unit now supports all franchisees with a unique and robust corporate-based inside sales support team, designed to help franchisees acquire new business opportunities in their territories and recruit technicians.
“We saw significant growth in the U.S., Canada and overseas in 2018 and this year is on track for more of the same,” says Victor Clewes, chairman of Filta Group Holdings, PLC. “Jason and I join the entire Filta network in wishing Tom and Rob continued success in their new roles.”
Filta makes commercial kitchens safer, more efficient and environmentally sustainable by micro-filtering existing cooking oil, providing bin-free waste oil collection, deep cleaning fryers and recycling waste oil. The brand has expanded its kitchen services into humidity control for cold storage and grease-free drain foams, making it a recognized environmental leader across the restaurant and hospitality industry. Through its network of thousands of commercial and restaurant kitchens that it services every week, Filta has recycled nearly 1 billion pounds of used cooking oil into biodiesel, significantly reducing the impact of fryer oil on the environment.
Nearly 150 Filta franchisees in 44 states serve thousands of clients weekly across North America. Customers range from single and chain restaurants to commercial kitchens inside casinos, hospitals, hotels, groceries, universities, business facilities, stadiums (NFL, NCAA, MLB, NHL) and more.
