Chicago — McDonald’s and its franchisees plan to invest approximately $186 million to modernize 240 restaurants located across Florida. The initiative is part of the fast food giant’s aim to invest $6 billion to modernize most of its U.S. restaurants by 2020.
Woburn, Mass. — U.S. Pavement Services Inc., a full-service paving and pavement maintenance contractor headquartered in Woburn, Mass., will open a new office in Sarasota, Fla., in February. The new location will house the company’s national project management team, adding to its existing office presence in Denver and Vermont.
Cape Coral, Fla. — Creighton Commercial Development and Construction has completed construction services for the new Shoot Center in Cape Coral, Fla., located at 1122 Del Prado Blvd. S. The Creighton Construction team was led by project manager Tom Misotti and superintendent Tracy Saylor.
Atlanta — Church’s Chicken® has signed a new franchising deal with Florida Chicken LLC, which has secured the rights to open 10 new restaurants in Florida. New markets slated for development include multiple restaurants in Tampa, St. Petersburg and Orlando, with another 10-restaurant deal expected to follow in 2021.
New York City — Just in time for the holiday season, one of the nation’s largest outlet and retail shopping centers welcomes New York-based Century 21 Department Store to Sawgrass Mills, a Simon Center, in Sunrise, Fla. The new store, which will open on December 16, 2016, marks the 55-year-old retailer’s 12th location — and its first in Florida.
Jacksonville, Fla. — IKEA has officially broken ground on its fifth Florida store. Until the future IKEA Jacksonville opens in fall 2017, customers can shop at IKEA Orlando and IKEA Tampa. Two other IKEA stores are located in the South Florida cities of Sunrise and Sweetwater.
