Midwood to Open $100 Million Shops at Sportsmen’s Lodge in Studio City, CA

Studio City, Calif. — Midwood Investment & Development is nearing completion on The Shops at Sportsmen’s Lodge, a $100 million retail redevelopment of land formerly occupied by a meeting and convention center in Studio City, Calif. A rolling opening for the 90,000-square-foot property is scheduled to begin in June. The Shops at Sportsmen’s Lodge will be anchored by Erewhon, a Los Angeles-based market and café known for its selection of organic, healthy foods. Brookfield Properties Opens Retail, Dining Portion of Fifth + Broadway in Downtown Nashville

Nashville, Tenn. — Brookfield Properties has opened the retail and dining component at Fifth + Broadway, a 6-acre mixed-use project in downtown Nashville, Tenn. Brookfield and local developer Pat Emery partnered on the development, which formerly was the location of the Nashville Convention Center. General contractor Skanska broke ground on the project in April 2017, when San Diego-based OliverMcMillan was the lead developer before its acquisition by Brookfield in February 2018. Saks Fifth Avenue Debuts New Main Floor of Manhattan Flagship Store

New York City — On February 5, 2019, Saks Fifth Avenue opened one of the largest luxury handbag destinations in New York City, furthering the $250 million ‘grand renovation’ of its Fifth Avenue flagship. The 53,000-square-foot main floor of the New York Flagship triples the handbag department selling space which includes more than 50 brands —14 of which are new to the store.

Wegmans-Anchored Retail Center To Break Ground in Raleigh

Raleigh, N.C. — Construction manager Williams Company Southeast will break ground this month for the new Wegmans-anchored Midtown East retail center near downtown Raleigh, N.C., under a contract exceeding $20 million.
