Cincinnati — The Kroger Co. has completed the sale of its convenience store business unit (totaling 762 c-stores) to EG Group for $2.15 billion. Kroger’s supermarket fuel centers and its Turkey Hill Dairy were not included in the sale.

Columbus, Ohio — David Campisi plans to retire as the president, CEO and member of the board of directors of Big Lots, Inc. Campisi, who had been on a leave of absence for medical reasons since December 2017, has decided to retire in order to focus fully on his health.
Holliston, Mass. — Pure Hockey, the largest hockey retailer in the U.S., has acquired both of Bauer Hockey’s “Own The Moment” retail stores. The new stores will operate as “Bauer Hockey Experience” locations. With the acquisition, Pure Hockey will now operate 53 retail locations across the United States, as well as three e-commerce sites.

Bentonville, Ark. — On April 18, 2018, Walmart announced that suppliers have reported reducing more than 20 million metric tons (MMT) of greenhouse gas emissions in the global value chain, as part of the company’s Project Gigaton initiative.
