Columbus, Ohio — Bruce K. Thorn, a well-respected retail industry executive, has been named chief executive officer and president of Big Lots, Inc. Most recently, he was the president and chief operating officer of Tailored Brands, Inc., a leading specialty retailer of men’s tailored clothing and men’s formalwear. Tailored Brands announced Thorn’s resignation on August 27, 2018.
Mooresville, N.C. — Lowe’s Companies, Inc. has appointed David M. Denton as executive vice president, chief financial officer. Denton currently serves as executive vice president and CFO of CVS Health and will join Lowe’s shortly after the closing of the CVS acquisition of Aetna, which is expected in the second half of 2018.
Quincy, Mass. — J.Jill, Inc. has appointed two new executives to the company’s senior leadership team. Brian Beitler will join the company as executive vice president, chief marketing and brand development officer, and Shelley Liebsch as senior vice president, chief merchandising officer. Both were appointed by J.Jill’s new CEO, Linda Heasley, and will begin their new roles in September.
Longwood, Fla. — Sean Jennings has been elected president of Waste Pro USA by the company’s board of directors. Waste Pro is the third largest privately owned waste company in the United States. Sean Jennings is the son of Waste Pro’s founder, CEO and chairman, John Jennings.
