Dallas — CEC Entertainment, Inc., a nationally recognized leader in family dining and entertainment, has appointed Mahesh Sadarangani to president of Peter Piper Pizza, effective immediately. Hoffman Estates, Ill. — On October 15, 2018, Sears Holdings Corporation and certain of its subsidiaries have filed voluntary petitions for Chapter 11 bankruptcy relief. Effective immediately, the company’s chairman and CEO, Edward S. Lampert, is stepping down from the CEO role. Also, the company will close 142 stores in addition to the previously announced 46 store closings.
Lexington, Ky. — Fazoli’s has signed two multi-unit development agreements for eight new locations in Georgia and Arkansas; additionally, the company has welcomed franchise and foodservice veteran Kathy Davidson as its new senior director of franchise sales.
Plano, Texas — J. C. Penney Company, Inc.’s board of directors has appointed Jill Soltau as chief executive officer and a member of the board, effective October 15, 2018. Soltau is a 30-year retail veteran who most recently served as president and CEO of JOANN Stores, the nation’s largest fabric and crafts retailer, after serving as president of Shopko Stores.
