Los Angeles — Kitchen United, a Los Angeles-based virtual restaurant provider, is opening its next kitchen center in Chicago’s River North neighborhood — its first location outside of California. Kitchen United will work with restaurant partners to begin move-in in mid-December, and will start serving Chicago consumers in January.

Chicago — SMS Assist, one of Chicago’s fastest-growing technology companies, has opened a second area office in suburban Naperville, Ill. Chicago — Englewood Construction has begun work on six restaurant projects, including three new Wings Over restaurants in Athens, Ga., Clemson, S.C., and College Park, Md.; a new Outback Steakhouse in Gurnee, Ill.; the renovation of an existing Ruth’s Chris in San Diego; and the construction of the base building and utility infrastructure for a planned CoreLife Eatery in a Springfield, Ill., retail center owned by Seritage Growth Properties.

Chicago — For the first time in its 117-year history, Rogers & Hollands Jewelers is launching a new discount store model, Rogers & Hollands Outlet, this April. Two Chicago-area Rogers & Hollands locations, one in North Riverside Park Mall and one in Golf Mill Shopping Center, have been selected to be rebranded, remodeled and reopened as Rogers & Hollands Outlet.
